Through this Google site, I wanted to exhibit my ease with using technology especially in the Google suite of products. I have been a personal Google user for years, and I was a part of the Google migration at St. John's. I offered professional development sessions on Gmail and Google Forms. I really enjoy showing teachers neat tools and shortcuts that I have found that might be useful in their classrooms. At St. John's, I was a part of the Technology Team. I attended weekly meetings where I was the liaison between technology and all three libraries. My technical responsibilities included maintaining the library online public access catalog (OPAC) as well as the eBook fiction library through Overdrive. I also helped teachers on a daily basis trouble shoot technology problems in the absence of the campus technologist. Mostly I handled software issues, but often I would help with printers and projectors.
During my last semester at St. John's, I was involved in the planning of a Makerspace called the MavLab that opened this school year. I am still very much invested in the ideas behind Makerspaces. Please look at the Google Slideshow below to see more about my involvement in Makerspaces.
